1897 fut constitué, à Bruxelles, un Comité international pour rapprocher entre eux les visiteurs catholiques des Congrès internationaux contre l'alcoolisme; au Congrès de Londres, en 1909, ce Comité fut transformé en une Ligue des sociétés catholiques antialcooliques; aux Congrès de 1911, 1913 et 1921 cette Ligue organisa de grandes assemblées. Depuis 1913, le Saint-Siège encourage ses travaux et, en 1920, approuva comme section de la Ligue la « Fédération catholique internationale d'abstinence totale Crux » qui a son siège à Willisau (Lucerne). (HB 1921) En 1922 a été conclu un arrangement pour coopérer plus effectivement avec le bureau de « Crux ». (HB 1923) In 1897, an International Committee was constituted at Brussels for the purpose of drawing together Catholic visitors in the International Congresses against Alcoholism. At the Congress of London in 1909, this Committee was transformed into a League of Catholic Anti-Alcoholic Societies. Since 1913, the Holy See has encouraged its work, and in 1920 approved the Catholic Federation for Total Abstinence, Crux (which has its seat at Willisau, Lucerne), as a section of the League. In 1924, the League organised a Congress at Copenhagen, in 1926 at Iieidhausen (Ruhr) and Tartu, in 1928 at Antwerp (HB 1929).
