Fondée à Vienne en 1926, l'Union internationale du pétrole a succédé à l'ancienne Union du forage, fondée en 1894 à Vienne et réorganisée en 1911, sous le titre de «Société internationale des Ingénieurs et Techniciens des travaux de forage». (HB 1936) Founded at Vienna in 1926, the International Oil Union is a continuation of the old Drilling Union founded in 1894 at Vienna and reorganised in 1911 as the " International Society of Drilling Engineers and Technicians ".
