LONSEA: Searching the Globe through the lenses of the League of Nations

The LONSEA database illustrates the history of international organisations and global governance. Its focus is the material collected by the League of Nations on the proceedings of international activities from 1919 to 1946.

LONSEA was created by historians of the research projects "Networking the International System" and “Subaltern Diplomacy 1930-1960” at the University of Heidelberg, Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context". Since 2017 the database is maintained by the Institute for European Global Studies, University of Basel. Madeleine Herren (Project Leader), Christiane Sibille (Project Coordination), Christof Meigen (Technical Realisation and Programming), Benjamin Auberer, Timo Holste, Cornelia Knab, Carolin Liebisch and Maya Okuda(Project Members).
