Organiser une coopération permanente entre les association de chimie des pays adhérents; coordonner leurs moyens d'action scientifiques et techniques; contribuer à l'avancement de la chimie dans toute l'étendue de son domaine. HB 1929: To organise permanent co-operation between the chemical societies of the adhering countries: to co-ordinate their methods of scientific and technical procedure; to promote the development of chemistry in all branches.

General facts

Une conférénce préparatoire a eu lieu à Paris, en avril 1919, entre les délégués de Belgique, Grande-Bretagne, France, Etats-Unis et Italie. La première conférénce internationale se réunit à Rome en juin 1920; la deuxième, à laquelle 21 nations étaient représentées, à Bruxelles en juin 1921 et la troisième à Lyon en juin-juillet 1922, HB 1925: la quatrième se réunit à Cambridge (Angleterre) en juin 1923, la cinquième eut lieu à Copenhague (Danemark) en juin 1924, et la sixième s'est tenue à Bucarest en juin 1925. HB 1929: A preparatory Conference was held in Paris, April 1919, consisting of the delegates of Belgium, Great Britain, France, Italy and the United States of America. The First International Conference met at Rome in June 1920 : the ninth at The Hague in 1928.

Activities
