The South Sea Association, 南洋協会
To promote mutual understanding by the study of South Sea matters, and thus to contribute to peace and civilization.
1. Investigation of South Sea industrial, social, and other conditions. 2. Presentation to Japan of South Sea conditions, and vice versa. 3. Training of necessary men for South Sea enterprises. 4. Endeavor for the diffusion of Japanese medicine, crafts, and other sciences. 5. Publication of periodicals and other literature, and holding of lecture-meet ings. 6. Establishment of a South Sea museum and library. 7. A general meeting in the spring of each year. 8. Establishment of branch associations at
home and abroad.
