Object

1° Développer entre les femmes de tous les pays le sentiment de solidarité et d'entente réciproque; 2° Créer un lien entre les organisations féminines du monde entier; 3° Procurer aux femmes de toutes les parties du globe des occasions, où elles puissent se rencontrer et étudier les questions concernant le progrès social, le bien-être de l'individu et celui de la famille. (1) To promote among women of all countries sentiments of solidarity and mutual understanding ; (2) to provide a means of communication between women's organisations in all countries ; (3) to provide opportunities for women to meet together from all parts of the world to confer upon questions relating to the welfare of the commonwealth, the family and the individual.

Activities

Rapports annuels et quinquennaux. Rapports de Commissions: Paix et Arbitrage, Position légale de la femme, Suffrage, Traite des Blanches, Santé publique, etc. Des Conseils de femmes existent actuellement dans une trentaine de pays, comptant ensemble environ 25 millions de membres. Le Comité exécutif du Conseil a tenu sa dernière séance à La Haye en mai 1922; 26 pays y étaient représentés. La prochaine réunion aura lieu à Copenhague en 1924 (HB of 1923). Des conseils de femmes existent actuellement dans une quarantaine de pays, comptant ensemble environ 25 millions de membres. Le Comité exécutif du Conseil a tenu une séance à La Haye en mai 1922; 29 pays y étaient représentés. Une autre réunion s'est tenue à Copenhague en 1924. lia septième réunion quinquennale eut lieu à Washington en mai 1925 (HB of 1925). Annual and quinquennial reports ; reports of Committees : finance, press, peace and arbitration ; laws concerning the legal status of women, suffrage and civil rights, equal moral standard and the suppression of traffic in women; public health, education, emigration and immigration, trades and professions; protection of children and young persons ; cinema. The seventh quinquennial meeting took place at Washington in May 1925. The Executive and Standing Committees of the Council met in Geneva in 1924 and in London in 1929. The eighth quinquennial Council meeting will be held in Vienna in 1930. (HB 1929)
