Officers

HB 1936: La Fédération est dirigée par un Congrès qui se réunit tous les deux ans au minimum, un Comité exécutif composé de trois délégués par section, qui se réunit au moins une fois par an, et par un Bureau qui se réunit au moins tous les six mois. Organes permanents : secrétariat général et trésorerie. HB 1938: The Federation is under the direction of a Congress which meets at least once every two years, an Executive Committee consisting of three delegates for each Section, which meets at least once a year, and a Bureau which meets at least once every six months. Permanent organs: General Secretariat and Treasury. President: To be appointed. Vice-Presidents: one vice-president to be appointed by the Governing Body of the French Section.

HB 1936: Propager le cinéma en dehors de toute préoccupation mercantile; d'entretenir entre ses membres les règles de dignité professionnelle; resserrer entre eux les liens de bonne confraternité et de solidarité; protéger les droits et les intérêts professionnels de ses membres. HB 1938: To popularise the cinema apart from commercial considerations; to foster professional dignity among its members; to strengthen the ties of brotherhood and fellowship; to safeguard the professional rights and interests of its members.

HB 1936: Recettes: Les cotisations nationales, les cotisations des membres correspondants, les dons, libéralités et subsides, les bénéfices de représentations organisées par la Fédération ou sous son patronage. Dépenses : Frais d'administration, frais d'impression du bulletin mensuel, frais de déplacement des secrétaires et trésorier, frais d'organisation de voyages d'étude, de conférences et des diverses réunions internationales organisées par la Fédération. HB 1938: Receipts: National subscriptions, subscriptions of corresponding members, donations, gifts and subsidies, profits from performances arranged by the Federation or given under its patronage. Expenses: Costs of administration, cost of printing monthly bulletin, travelling expenses of secretaries and treasurer, cost of organising study tours, conferences and various international meetings arranged by the Federation.

General facts

HB 1936: Les journalistes suivant les travaux du Congrès du cinéma tenu en 1926 à l'Institut international de Coopération intellectuelle votèrent à l'unanimité une résolution préconisant la création d'une Fédération, mais ce n'est qu'en 1930, lors du Congrès international du cinéma tenu à Bruxelles, que la Fédération a pu être fondée. HB 1938: The journalists who attended the Cinema Congress held at the International Institute of Intellectual Co-operation in 1926 unanimously adopted a resolution recommending the formation of a Federation, but only at the time of the International Cinematographic Congress held in Brussels in 1930 was the Federation founded.

Activities

HB 1936: La Fédération publie chaque mois un bulletin donnant tous renseignements sur l'état de la presse cinématographique dans le monde et sur les travaux de la Fédération; elle organise des conférences et des discussions sur les questions intéressant la technique cinématographique: film grandeur, cinéma parlant, cinéma en couleurs, cinéma en relief. HB 1938: Congresses in Brussels 1930, Rome 1931, London 1932, Paris 1933, Brussels 1935, Rome 1936, Paris 1937. The Federation publishes a monthly bulletin containing full information on the position of the cinematographic Press throughout the world and on the Federation's proceedings; it arranges conferences and discussions on technical cinematographic questions: size of films, talking films, coloured films, films in relief.
