General facts

Le service international d'aide aux émigrants a été créé par l'Association chrétienne universelle de Jeunes Femmes à titre d'expérience provisoire, pour mettre à l'épreuve l'idée d'une organisation internationale de service social. En octobre 1924, le service international est devenu une organisation indépendante, ayant son siège à Londres, 79, Buckingham Palace Road. Au cours de l'année, toutes les branches nationales de ce Service, à l'exception de celle du Canada, se sont détachées de toute autre organisation et une société internationale, ayant une direction centrale, a été créée. En juin 1925, le Bureau central a été transféré à Genève où ont eu lieu, en septembre 1925, une réunion du Comité international et une Conférence.
